In this blog I’m going to reflect on an event in light of Value #3 “Ministry Leaders Fully Embrace and Model It.”
In the month of May I had the privilege to speak at a “ Game Night” hosted by Zion Baptist Church’s youth program and it was open to other local youth ministries. This was a highly relational game night with a message focused on the importance of reaching out to hurting friends. The leaders that Tyren had were running the show. 3 students opened up the event with prayer, scripture reading and another was an emcee. -the leaders then brought the students into the sanctuary for the message time. After the message they developed prayer partners for the month exchanging index cards that they had previously put their names on. -after the message they were lead back into the fellowship hall to finish out the event. In the fellowship hall the leaders played leading roles in facilitating the rotation of the game areas. There’s great value in allowing your leadership team to stand take the reigns. Even if they stumble in the process at least they STOOD. |
