Fluency "GREAT goal"
*- LESSON #3a: 01-CHOOSE 14er “WHAT MOUNTAIN FIRST?”: God honoring (Does it bring glory to God or you?)
14ers are mountain ranges in Colorado. Before you climb one you have to know which one you’re going to climb. Ministry speaking… What area or group of your Jerusalem has God called you to?
*- LESSON #3b: 02-CHOOSE 14er “REMEMBER THE MISSION”: Radical (Does it significantly stretch your faith?)
14ers are mountain ranges in Colorado. Before you climb one you should know that it will stretch you. Ministry speaking… Do you have a mission that stretches your faith? It might look something like this… “To have ____ gospel conversations, believe God for ___% professions of faith, resulting in ___% plugging into discipleship.”
*- LESSON #3c: 03-CHOOSE 14er “MAP YOUR PLAN”: Exact (Can you measure progress toward it?)
14ers are mountain ranges in Colorado. Before you climb one you know the terrain and the layout. Ministry speaking… Map your area and see where they are.
*- LESSON #3d: 04-CHOOSE 14er “PATH & EQUIPMENT”: Achievable (Is it birthed out of faith or foolishness?)
14ers are mountain ranges in Colorado. Before you climb one you think ahead, gather the proper resources and avoid taking extra things along the way that may slow you down. Ministry speaking… What’s the game plan from beginning the end? What will we use to reach our goal (training resources, apps, www.dare2share.org)? Do you have anything on the calendar that doesn’t involve the goal? Do you have events that need combined or tweaked to make it gospel advancing.
*- LESSON #3e: 05-CHOOSE 14er “DON'T QUIT UNTIL YOU’RE FINISHED.”: Time-sensitive (Does it have a deadline?)
14ers are mountain ranges in Colorado. At the end of the climb the climber knows when it’s over or knows the time-frame of when they need to start and be finished due to oxygen tank levels and stamina. How will you know that you achieved the goal? What is the deadline? When the going gets tough don’t quit. If you’ve heard this plan from the holy spirit let it be the anchor that holds your ministry in times of the storm.
If anything your GREAT goals should have at least 4 elements: (1) Should be spiritually aggressive (2) Should be geographically specific, (3) Should be time sensitive, (4) Should be Biblically measured.
The end result should look something like this... "To reach BLANK NUMBER of students in the BLANK area with BLANK NUMBER of GOSPEL conversations by DATE, while believing God that BLANK NUMBER / PERCENTAGE of them would put their trust in Christ and plug into out youth ministry to be discipled."
-Establishing a bold vision for your ministry that can only be accomplished in God’s strength inspires your entire group. It gives everyone something to push for, pray for and praise God for.
-The biggest, boldest, best vision ever articulated is found in Matthew 28:19-20 “(19) Therefore go and make Disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
